Eternal Lies: The Masks of the Liar
Former Investigator, now a mental patient
Doug Henslowe is a native of Savannah, Georgia. He was good friends with Walter Winston, the avant-garde composer with an interest in the occult.
In 1926, Henslowe, Winston, and their companions assaulted what they claimed was a cultist ritual to bring about the end of the world in the San Fernando Valley, near Los Angeles. In the assault all of Henslowe’s comrades except Winston were killed. Unable to deal with what he had witnessed, Doug committed himself to the Joy Grove Sanitarium in his home town.
Since then he has been in and out of the asylum. The head of Joy Grove, Dr. Keaton, is fascinated by Henslowe and another survivor of the 1926 incident, Edgar Job—also a patient at Joy Grove—and hopes to write a book about their treatment.
